Dr. Joseph and Deborah Kerwin

Dr. Kerwin has been practicing in Gorham since 1989. He is a 1988 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from Colby College in Waterville, Maine in 1978.

He attained his advanced proficiency qualification in Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique, one of the most widely used low force techniques in the world, in 1999. In 2009 he completed Advanced Clinical Training in Nutrition Response TestingSM, a system of analyzing the body to determine the underlying causes of ill or non-optimum health.

Professional memberships include the Maine Chiropractic Association where he has been an active member since 1989. He was awarded the Robert P. Lynch, Sr. leadership award in 1992, in appreciation of the extra time and effort spent in furthering all aspects of Chiropractic growth and recognition within the state of Maine.

He served on the Board of Directors of the Maine Chiropractic Association from 1992-2000 including the position of treasurer for six years and as President of the Maine Chiropractic Association with over 200 members in the state of Maine, from 2000-2002. He was appointed by the Governor of the State of Maine to serve on the Maine Board of Chiropractic Licensure from 2003-2006.

Playing an active role in the Gorham Community, he was a founding member of the Gorham Business and Civic Exchange, and was Business Person of the Year in 1998. He was the fundraising chair for the Gorham Community Playground and the fundraising chairman for the $2 million dollar Baxter Memorial Library Expansion Project. He sponsors a Gorham recreation baseball team and the Burn off the turkey run annually.

Dr. Kerwin is active in speaking to local schools, civic and business organizations on a variety of health topics.

Dr. Kerwin has been married to Debbie Kerwin since 1980 and has three daughters, Kristi, Leigha and Kelsie.

Deborah A. Kerwin, C.A.

Deb is the office manager for Kerwin Chiropractic and Nutrition since 1989. She is a state of Maine certified Chiropractic Assistant completing her studies through New York Chiropractic College.

Her caring and compassion for our patients comes from being the mother of three girls and her passion for dance. She danced, choreographed and taught ballet for 25 years and brings her passion for dance to improve the quality of life for her patients.
